About the School
General English courses are available for international students whose native language is not English. In a multicultural environment, students receive a high standard of education through the university's unique teaching methods. The General English course focuses on building confidence in speaking English and on developing the four skills of listening, speaking, writing and reading in a balanced way. It also places importance on gaining many cultural experiences in Melbourne. The pathway preparation course focuses not only on exam preparation but also on the skills students will actually need once they enter university. The reputation of its English language programs is as high as that of the university itself. Monash University English Language Centre (MUELC) provides high quality English language courses to international students from non-English speaking backgrounds. Its unique learning environment combines a university experience with residential, library, sports and computer-assisted learning facilities.
