About the School
Bow Valley College, renamed from the Alberta Vocational College, is located in downtown Calgary, with the Bow River just 5 minutes away, making transportation and daily life convenient. As a government-funded institution for immigrant education, it has a large ESL program, with more than 2,000 students taking English courses every year. Based on the philosophy that only active teaching methods help improve English ability, about 60 teachers offer a variety of programs, and class sizes are relatively small. The regular program is divided into 9 levels from beginner to advanced, and courses in grammar, TOEFL and pronunciation correction are also available. A certificate is issued upon completion of a course, and students who have been accepted also receive services such as health insurance benefits, accommodation arrangement and airport pickup.
