Surroundings
Toronto is the cultural and financial capital of Canada. Recent waves of immigrants have made this city a patchwork of regions and ethnicities, each adding another layer to its growing cultural landscape. Toronto is an incredibly multicultural society, with nearly half of its population born outside Canada. Although it is dizzyingly diverse, these many cultures are connected through English and cheer together for the sports teams Torontonians love: the Maple Leafs in hockey and the Blue Jays in baseball. Toronto's art and music are world class, and its theater district is the third largest in the world. After class, students go on picnics by Lake Ontario, shop in downtown boutiques, and climb to the top of the CN Tower to try to spot where the EF school is. On weekends, they go in groups to nearby Niagara to see one of the world's most spectacular waterfalls in person. Canadians are famous for being friendly, and locals are always ready for a casual chat, making Toronto an excellent place to make the most of your English study.
