About the School
George Brown College lets you pursue vocational education alongside your English studies, and offers more than 100 certificate and degree programs in fields such as business, community services, applied arts, general arts and science, health sciences, hospitality, and engineering. Located in the heart of Toronto, it offers convenient transportation, and the diverse cultural life of a big city is another source of enjoyment for students studying English. The English program includes EAP, which consists of 9 levels at 8-week intervals. It runs 25 hours per week. In the newly introduced intensive English class in particular, students can freely choose their classes to focus more on individual weak areas such as speaking and listening, which makes learning efficient, and audio-visual materials are used to spark a variety of interests. After completing the final level of either program, students can enter undergraduate programs without TOEFL. A TESL program is also available. Made up of 6 courses, including methodology, pedagogy, grammar, phonology and phonetics, teaching methods, and teaching practicum, it combines theory and practice with a thorough assessment system, and a TESL certificate is issued upon completion. Group enrollment is also possible.
