About the School
Queen's University's ESL course, in which students stay in a dormitory or with a homestay family and learn English in a short, intensive format, is well known for being demanding. Students are strictly required to use only English on campus, and any student who breaks this rule is barred from attending classes again, with no tuition refund. Participation in cultural experiences and field trips is also mandatory, and many students have benefited greatly from this. Each course focuses on academic English and consists of 5 stages in total, subdivided into 6-12 levels with 20 hours of classes per week. 12-week courses start in January, May and September, and 5-week short summer courses start in May and July. TOEFL and TOEIC courses are also available. We recommend the dormitory for accommodation. It is not only convenient because it is located on campus and gives access to various auxiliary facilities, but also lets you live alongside regular-program students and experience Canadian culture. Homestay is arranged for students who want it.
