About the School
Based on the belief that international students play a very important role in introducing Canadian culture and broadening international perspectives, Red River Community College welcomes students broadly and has offered language training programs for 30 years at its historic Union Station campus in the heart of Winnipeg. Classes run 25 hours per week over 19 weeks and are broadly divided into general English training (ESL) and ESP (English for Special Purposes). ESL has 6 levels in total, and ESP is divided into a TOEFL class for further study, a business English class, a class completing required subjects for college admission, and an English class for professional skills. A TOEFL score of 450 is required for admission to the ESP program. There is also an Upgrading and High School program in which students can complete courses equivalent to grades 10, 11, and 12.
