About the School
Clackamas Community College is a two-year public institution located about 15 miles south of Portland, Oregon, with views of Mt. Hood. Our school is conveniently located near Oregon City, a safe and historic community. It is close to Portland, the largest city in Oregon, the beautiful Oregon coast, and the scenic Cascade Mountains. Founded in 1966, Clackamas is fully accredited and is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in Oregon. More than 7,000 full-time students attend. At our college you can earn two-year associate degrees in the arts and sciences as well as certificates in professional/technical fields. You can also earn the two-year Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer degree (A.A.O.T) for transfer to Oregon universities. Students who earn the A.A.O.T degree can transfer to a four-year Oregon university as juniors. Students can receive individualized, high-quality education without the high cost of a four-year university. * International Student Programs Clackamas has two programs for international students. Students aiming to improve their English study in the Intensive English Program. Students with a TOEFL score of 193 (computer-based), 523 (paper-based), or 69 (iBT) can enter the college directly. 1) Intensive English Program Small classes, a progressive curriculum, and affordable costs characterize the Intensive English Program. The program consists of 5 levels of English classes. Because students receive individual guidance, they are assured all the support they need in the core classes of listening, writing, everyday English, and grammar. Effective classes include idioms, pronunciation, skills for college entry, vocabulary building, computer practice, TOEFL/TOEIC preparation classes, and cultural exchange conversation. A highly trained faculty teaches using modern teaching methods that improve student interaction. Students are generally assigned to new classes as student numbers and needs change. State-of-the-art computer labs raise the level of instruction. 2) Credit Courses CCC offers many programs for education, vocational and technical careers, including art, automotive technology, biology, business, chemistry, communications, computer science, criminal justice, dental assisting, design, education, emergency medical management, engineering, English literature, foreign languages, geography, gerontology, health care, history, horticulture, human development, human resource management, instructional assistant, manufacturing technology, mathematics, music, nursing, nutrition, pharmacy, physical education, project management, social science, theater arts, veterinary science, and water/environmental technology.
