Mercer University-Atlanta Campus

Located in the state of Georgia in the southern United States, Mercer University has three campuses in Atlanta, Macon and Savannah. The English Language Institute (ELI) program is offered only at the Atlanta center. The ELI English program is an English for Academic Purposes course designed specifically for international students who wish to enter American universities. It is structured to help students who are not yet comfortable with English improve their English ability quickly, and its classes are centered on the study of actual university course subjects, so that students who complete the ELI course can move on to regular university studies without difficulty. There are five 8-week sessions and one 7-week summer session per year. Classes total 23 hours per week, including computer time, and one term lasts 8 weeks. The maximum class size is 15 students, and classes consist of grammar, writing, listening/speaking and reading. The program is run as a multi-level program, and the state-of-the-art computer lab offers English software, the internet, word processing and email. On-campus apartment housing is limited.
