About the School
The AECI/DCCCD is an intensive English program designed to meet the needs of international students preparing to study in American colleges and universities or planning to work in fields where English is the primary language. You will have the opportunity to study oral communication, writing, reading and grammar in English along with American cultural studies. The AECI hires experienced, university-trained native speakers of English for Speakers of Other Languages who have years of teaching experience. The AECI is located on the campus of Richland College in north Dallas near the communities of Richardson and Garland. The campus is easily accessible by DART public transportation system from all areas of Dallas. The AECI is the only college-sponsored intensive English program located within the city of Dallas. Its location on the Richland College campus provides students access to all the campus amenities, including state-of-the-art computer labs, the library, the cafeteria, and the gym. In addition, AECI students can take advantage of a wide variety of campus programs, student organizations and clubs, and performing arts events at Richland. The AECI is a very affordable educational opportunity. Tuition and fees are lower than most other programs in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Most importantly, you will receive a full range of academic services which includes excellent teachers and knowledgeable academic advisors to ensure that you are well prepared to achieve your academic and professional goals. The AECI offers a year-round program of study in sixteen-week sessions for the Spring and the Fall sessions, and an eight-week program of study during the Summer session. The program consists of four levels of instruction. You will receive 20-25 hours of classroom instruction per week.
