About the School
The university's Intensive English Institute (IEI) was founded in 1967 and has helped thousands of students improve their English skills. The goal of the IEI is to help students improve their English as much as possible so that they can advance to degree programs in the United States or further their careers. The IEI offers a total of 5 levels, from beginner to advanced. Each student receives 20 hours of instruction per week. Courses run for 15 weeks during the fall semester (August-December) and the spring semester (January-May). The IEI also has an 8-week summer session running from mid-June to mid-August. Students at each level take required and elective courses, including the following. ㆍ University Listening and Speaking/Reading and Writing ㆍ Listening and Speaking Strategies/Daily Reading and Writing ㆍ Film and Novels ㆍ Business Communication ㆍ Current Affairs ㆍ Grammar ㆍ Conversation Skills ㆍ Pronunciation ㆍ TOEFL Strategies ㆍ IEI Student Life In addition to their daily studies, IEI students take part in a variety of activities. Through special IEI activities such as trips and social events, students can experience American culture and enjoy fun, exciting opportunities to use English naturally. IEI students can use and take part in a wide range of campus and community activities, events and facilities.
