About the School
Starting from the Fall 2018 semester, applications to UMass Boston undergraduate programs are available through International Direct*. (Shorelight) The University of Massachusetts Boston is located in Boston, Massachusetts, and is one of the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts system. It is the only public university in Boston and a research-focused university. Located on Boston Harbor, the campus enjoys a unique setting with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean and has good access to downtown. It offers 213 diverse programs across 10 colleges. With a student-to-faculty ratio of 16:1, most classes are small, so instruction takes place through close interaction with professors. It is well known for its business and nursing programs and has internationally recognized faculty. As Boston's only public university, it also has the advantage of allowing you to study at affordable tuition. However, dormitories are not provided. [UMass Boston-International Direct] You will apply to UMass Boston as a Direct student, not a pathway student. All classes and academic schedules are the same as for students who applied directly through the Common Application.
