Conversation Partner Program: At the start of the program, ELSC students are paired with American WOU university students and talk in English for one hour once a week, which is also a great opportunity to make American friends. Student College/University Resource Library: We keep the course catalogues, international student application forms, and materials on universities located in Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho, and two advisors actively help students find and apply to the universities they want. Informational Guest Speakers: At the start of the first fall term, local notable figures are invited to give lectures in the Cultural Studies class. Lecture topics include Rules of the Road and Oregon Laws, Personal Safety at Home and on the Road, Health Tips, Renting an Apartment, and Making Travel Plans, all of which will be essential information for life in the United States. Airport Pick-up: If you arrive through Portland International Airport on the regular airport pick-up day, the Friday of the week before the term begins, an Internexus ELSC staff member will meet you by car. The trip to the school takes about an hour and a half. If you arrive on any other day, a new arrangement must be made.
