About the School

WESLI (Wisconsin English Second Language Institute) was founded in 1981 in Madison, Wisconsin. The school offers a 7-level English course for students who wish to attend undergraduate or graduate school in the United States, people who want to improve their English for their careers, and those who want to learn English for personal development.

School Features

Students who complete all WESLI courses and receive conditional admission do not need a TOEFL score. Free university placement service in the U.S. After you arrive in the U.S., WESLI's academic advisors help you schedule the tests required for your chosen program (TOEFL, GRE, etc.), complete applications, and choose a university program. This service is free, and a WESLI recommendation can substitute for a TOEFL score at many colleges and universities in Wisconsin. Part-time college classes available If your ability is recognized, WESLI can arrange part-time study for credit at the University of Wisconsin or Edgewood College. Student services Airport pickup: WESLI will meet you at Madison airport and take you to your dormitory or homestay. Recreation and cultural activities: WESLI has a dedicated staff member in charge of recreational activities such as parties, short outings, club activities and volunteer work to help you improve your English outside class. Conversation partner WESLI will make an effort to find a conversation partner for you. Most of these partners are university students who want a language exchange. This is an excellent way to make American friends and improve your English outside class. Tutor program If you have trouble keeping up with classes, WESLI will try to arrange a one-on-one tutor. These tutors will help you solve your specific language problems. Computer lab and audio-visual room WESLI has a computer lab and an audio-visual room, so you can do writing assignments on a computer and access e-mail and the Internet.
