Beginner to Advanced - 1 to 50 weeks This general course prepares students for effective English Language communication. It is designed to develop English proficiency, from a beginner level through to an advanced level, and teaches students how to communicate effectively in everyday society.

Academic English for Tertiary Studies CRICOS Code 060789E The Academic English for Tertiary Studies course has been specifically designed for students who need to improve their English skills for entry into Academic Pathways Programs and university study. This course has four levels and each level consists of 10 weeks of study which includes 20 hours per week of face-to-face teaching. [Assessment] Course learning outcomes are assessed throughout the course by performance of specific tasks including writing a report and essay, listening to a lecture, reading and responding to an academic article and delivering a seminar. Students study skills are also assessed by time management of their assignments, observation of referencing conventions, collaborative work skills on some tasks and exam techniques. Marks are allocated for all assessment tasks as well as for the exams.

IELTS Preparation The preparation courses provide students with skills and confidence in test-taking as well as an understanding of the IELTS Academic Module practice test. It prepares students for all four skills tested: •reading •writing •listening •speaking * When: Saturdays 9am to 1pm * Full course: 4 weeks (16 hours)
