** ESL Program** Students from all over the world are welcome to attend our ESL/English Language Training program. This program is for students preparing for academic programs in Canada and/or improving their communication skills. Students must be at least 18 years old. Mature students are welcome. Short-term students are welcome to attend any semester for a duration of 6 week minimum. • No study permit is required for students attending 6 months or less • Flexible start dates are available for short-term students. Students may start anytime during the FIRST HALF of the Fall or Winter semesters. What is ESL Training? The program is designed to improve all language areas: • listening • grammar • vocabulary • writing • speaking • pronunciation • reading • conversation All classes are interactive and include cultural information. Certificates are available for students who complete a level. This program is for students: preparing for academic programs in Canada and/or improving their communication skills The program is designed to improve all language areas: *Program Schedule ESL classes are offered in the morning and afternoons on weekdays. Classes are kept small so that each student receives individual attention. ESL runs for four semesters per year: • Fall (September to December - 15 weeks) • Winter (January to April - 15 weeks) • Spring (May to June - 7 weeks) • Summer (July to August - 7weeks) Advanced ESL students may attend one academic course with English-speaking students while in ESL. No extra tuition is required for these academic courses. After students complete the English Language Assessment, they are given a list of possible courses they can take. There are three levels in the Fall and Winter. Students completing the most advanced level of ESL may enter Canadian High School English (English 80 and 90) offered at the college.
