학교 소개
Durham College offers intensive English language training, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), on campus that prepares students for entry into college programs. A six-level program is designed to give intensive instruction to international students who do not speak English as their first language and do not meet the language requirements for direct entry into a Canadian college. The goal is to ensure that graduating students have post-secondary competence when using the English language so they can participate successfully in post-secondary programs. In addition, students also gain an understanding of Canadian teaching methods, teachers' expectations and the responsibilities of being a student in a Canadian academic environment.

The EAP Program is designed to give intensive instruction to international students who do not meet the language requirements for direct entry into a Canadian college. This 6 level program prepares students for direct entry into college. * Our Goal Our goal is to ensure that graduating students have post-secondary competence in USING the English language to participate successfully in their post-secondary programs. In addition, students also gain an understanding of Canadian teaching methods, teachers' expectations and the responsibilities of being a student in a Canadian academic environment. " Having enough English is only half of the equation for success. The other half is knowing how to be a competent student in a Canadian academic environment." * The EAP Program Consists of 6 levels (Basic Proficiency Statement) Six session start dates each year Each session is eight weeks long 22 hours of teacher instruction weekly Starting level determined by placement test Progress tests at each level College language proficiency certificate on completing Level 8 Computer labs Highly qualified, caring teachers Small classes allowing personalized instruction (maximum 15 students) Activities and excursions in and around the Durham Region
