Intensive English Heartland’s English Programs are comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) programs for international learners. Heartland offers ESL programs to suit your learning needs – from beginner to advanced levels. All courses have small classes for maximum student participation. The Intensive English Program is a flexible ESL program focusing on improving your English ability.
ㆍStart any Monday and study any length of time (from one week to one year, or longer)
ㆍClasses Monday to Friday
ㆍPart-time and full-time options available (Semi-Intensive 15 hrs/wk, Intensive 25 hrs/wk, Super-Intensive 33 hrs/wk)
ㆍBasic to advanced level instruction with a focus on all skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking
ㆍStudents are placed in appropriate level based on the placement test on the first day of classes
ㆍSmall classes for maximum student participation — Maximum 15 students, average 10-12 students per class
ㆍWeekly activities organized to allow students to use their English in a variety of real situations outside of the school
ㆍStudents with a visitor or work authorization may study for up to six months.
ㆍOn a student authorization, students may study up to one year or longer
Heartland has 8 large classrooms with a capacity of close to 120 students at any one time. We have a modern computer lab with 12 workstations outfitted for our students needs. We also have a clean, well maintained kitchen and eating area for students along with a media lounge area that is outfitted with a big screen for students to relax in after class and watch videos and movies.

Heartland strives to provide all of our students with a unique and enriching experience outside of the classroom. We do this by providing our students with the opportunity to participate in all types of activities where they can learn to use English in fun and practical situations. We work hard to provide our students with a wide range of activities that cover areas such as sports, tours, events, recreational, cultural, social, arts and history. We guarantee at least 15-20 truly memorable activities each month. Our activity coordinator arranges an activity each and every Friday for students to participate in as well as advertising and helping students with other activities that are going on in the city!
