All students must register as full-time students in one of the following programs. The ESL Program consists of 20 hours per week. A blended program of ESL and other courses may increase class time to 27 hours per week. a. ESL Program b. 1st or 2nd year University Transfer (UT) Courses c. Visual & Graphic Communication Arts d. Applied Business Technology (Office Administration) e. Several other certificate and diploma programs available. * You will improve! In the English as a Second Language courses at Northern Lights College, we want students to succeed. The instructors have developed a communicative program. They will help you to become fluent in speaking and writing English. Your reading and listening skills will also improve. Of course, you have to spend time learning grammar! At any level, if you study, you will have an improvement in three or four months. * The teachers care! The teachers here care about the students. They find out about your dreams for the future and help you with your special English problems. They will also tell you what you can do in your free time to improve your English. This helps you to get better faster. * Beginners practice listening and speaking a lot! At the beginning level, the classes practice listening and speaking a lot. The students learn that knowing vocabulary is very important. They try to "sound English" by practicing speaking the way English people speak. This helps listening comprehension too. It is important to be able to hear and speak English first because our host families and people in our town like to talk to international students.

BC주의 북동쪽의 인구 17,000의 현대적인 도시에 2개의 캠퍼스를 가지고 있습니다. 동물들의 천국인 숲, 호수, 강등과 가까이에 위치하고 있습니다. 학생들은 사슴, 여우와같은 야생동물을 종종 볼 수 있습니다. 학교는 도시의 가장자리에 위치해있고 공원가까이에 위치해 있습니다. 학생들은 신선한 공기를 즐길 수 이따. 작은도시지만 학교는 큰도시가 가지고 있는 시설들을 가지고 있습니다. 예를들면, 도서관, 극장, 갤러리, 수영장, 하키, 쇼핑몰, 극장, 레스토랑, 댄싱클럽 등입니다.
매학기마다 학생들은위한 야외활동을 계획합니다. 가을에는 새로운 학생들과 그의 홈스테이 가정을 위한 저녁잔치를 연다. 12월에는 학생들이 캐나다 스포츠를 어떻게 즐겨야하는지를 가르친다. 봄에는 지역 원주민을 방문해 그들의 봄 의식을 보며 6월에는 골프레슨을 제공합니다.
