1. 다른 학원과 다른 RCIIS 만의 레벨 시스템 일반 ESL 학원의 수업 및 레벨은 Grammar를 기본으로 한 ESL 또는 Academic 수업으로 진행되며 특정 레벨이 되었을 경우 선택수업으로 Speaking 및 Business, IELTS 등 Special 프로그램을 들으실 수 있습니다. RCIIS의 경우 5개의 스피킹 레벨과 Grammar를 기본으로 한 5개의 ESL레벨 두개의 PATH가 있어 학생들의 성향에 맞는 수업을 선택해서 들으실 수 있습니다. 2. 토론토 유일의 발음교정 프로그램 RCIIS는 토론토 유일의 발음교정 프로그램 STAR Accent Reduction & Drama가 있습니다. 8주 완정 프로그램으로 미국/캐나다 배우, 아나운서 교재에서 따온 STAR Accent Redution & Drama 프로그램은 학생분들께서 더욱 자연스럽고 완벽한 발음을 하실 수 있도록 도움을 드립니다. OPIC과 TOEIC Speaking의 높은 등급을 받기 위한 준비 학생들에게 도움이 되는 STAR 발음교정은 RCIIS에서만 들으실 수 있습니다. 3. IELTS 점수보장 프로그램 IELTS Guarntee Program은 등록한 기간 내 IELTS 점수를 받지 못한 경우, 신청한 기간에 따라 2개월, 3개월, 4개월까지 더 들으며 IELTS 점수를 받을 수 있게 도와주는 RCIIS 만의 스파르타 관리 프로그램입니다.

Our counsellors will assist you in choosing the appropriate program after assessing your level of English on your first day of school. Our ESL Standard Package consists of 20 hours per week with your choice of classes that run in the morning or evening. English for Academic Purposes 대학진학 영어 The best way to transition from the life of an ESL student into a Canadian post-secondary institute, is through our English for Academic Purpose program. Conventional ESL programs do not educate students with the skills necessary to prosper at the advanced academic level required in Canadian colleges and universities. RCIIS is uniquely positioned to offer a three-month program which fills that void. The English for Academic Purposes program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to succeed in the Canadian post-secondary environment. This program will educate international students with not only the language skills, but also academic and life skills necessary to succeed in a Canadian post-secondary institution. Students will engage in a wide range of university disciplines and be encouraged to participate in discussions on open-ended questions. With regards to the listening and speaking component, students will be exposed to different viewpoints while working towards both individual and group related activities such as organized debates and presentations. Additionally, students will build and expand their comprehension of concepts and vocabulary with a particular focus on the Academic Word List. Entry Level: IELTS Equivalency of 5.5 Our EAP program is specially designed for the following skills: • Critical Analysis • Independent Thought • Critical Reading and Comprehension • Speaking and Presentation skills • Academic Writing • Academic Research and Vocabulary Expansion • Academic Strategies for Success [ Canadian College Academic Pathway Package ] Canadian College Academic Pathway Package is a large over-arching system of connected courses with the final goal of entering a Canadian post-secondary institution. Students may enter the pathway at multiple levels. The lowest point of entry is our ESL Foundation program. Students who are accepted into our ESL Foundation program are at the elementary or beginner levels of ESL proficiency and are placed there after an initial placement test. After successful completion of the ESL Foundation program, students may enter the Pre-Academic 1 course. Our Pre-Academic courses continue to provide general ESL skills, along with the techniques used in our English for Academic Purposes program. Alternatively, new students can be placed in Pre-Academic 1-4 based on their overall English proficiency. With some of our PCC partners, students can enter directly by successfully completing our highest level Pre-Academic Program. For other post-secondary pathway partners, students are required to successfully complete our EAP or Advanced EAP programs. IELTS Preparation IELTS 시험준비 This advanced course aims to prepare students to take the IELTS test. Whether for academic or immigration purposes, this course will help you achieve your IELTS goal. The main focus of the course is to help students with the four basic skills of English: listening, reading, writing and speaking. Our teachers help students understand IELTS reading articles while teaching them strategies such as skimming, scanning and guessing. In-class writing and speaking activities allow students to get quick feedback on their work, while mock tests and corrections will help them get a sense of their specific weaknesses. Entry Level: IELTS Equivalency of 5.0 By the end of the program, students will: • Become familiar with the exam format for IELTS • Have learnt specific exam taking strategies • Have practiced the skills necessary to succeed on the IELTS test • Have practiced taking all parts of the IELTS exam: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking • Have acquired the language proficiency needed to enroll in a university at the undergraduate or graduate level (Academic Module) Have acquired the language proficiency needed to migrate to an English-speaking country (General Module).
S.T.A.R. Accent Reduction 스타 발음교정 Incorrect pronunciation and intonation can often lead to misunderstandings and ineffective communication skills. The STAR Program is a unique fusion of advanced pronunciation systems and stage acting techniques which serve to give students the theory needed to speak naturally, while simultaneously allowing them to practice learned theory in a realistic speaking environment. Entry Level: Pre-Intermediate This course is divided into two sections: STAR – Accent Reduction: In this class students will learn how to create sounds of consonants and vowels which will enable them to use the proper sounds of each letter and words. Along with that, they will complete pronunciation and intonation exercises to form life-long habits that will allow them to speak much more naturally and clearly. This course allows students to learn more in a relatively short amount of time. This is primarily a speaking class and does not involve excessive amounts of reading or writing, outside of general note taking. Students will be expected to practice muscle movement and pronunciation. STAR – Accent Reduction teaches the fundamental skills required for clear English speech, using a five-point system to focus on the most important areas: • Intonation • Rhythm • Pronunciation • Muscle Training • Expression STAR – Drama: In the second part of this course, students will further work on scripts and acting to improve the clarity of English words by adding emotions. This gives students a chance to have fun while becoming more confident in speaking. Students will be expected to practice muscle movement and pronunciation, and produce an acting performance at the conclusion of the course. Upon the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to: • Identify tongue and mouth muscles positions • Make distinctions between short and long vowel sounds • Find and use Schwa – Ə • Note differences in dialects • Pronounce contractions more accurately • Have a strong understanding of syllable and word stress Create and practice natural sounding dialogues
Café English 카페 영어 One of the best ways to improve your English is to use it out of your comfort zone. Our uniquely designed program is ideal for students interested in working in cafés, or other areas of customer service. This program bridges the gap between a language classroom and a fast-paced English-speaking work environment by allowing students to practice common workplace scenarios while obtaining specific and immediate one on one feedback from a certified ESL teacher with café experience. Entry Level: Pre-Intermediate Some unique features of the program include: • Fast-paced work-related role-plays • Q & A meetings with café managers • Daily one on one feedback from instructor • Resume preparation and interview practice Upon the conclusion of this course, students will be able to: • Deal with customer complaints • Understand how to handle money • Speak with co-workers and customers • Write a resume best suited for café or restaurant positions • Create and mix simple beverages like lattes • Build time schedules and manage shifts
