[GENERAL ENGLISH COURSES] Class Size Maximum 12 (average 8) Course Availability All Year - Starting Any Monday (except Beginner level) Course Duration Any number of weeks (1 week minimum) We offer a choice of two courses in General English. A standard course of 20 hours per week which allows time for private study and activities and an intensive course of 26 hours per week. The extra 6 hours intensify the morning programme and focus on practical communication skills. Courses are held at seven levels from Beginner to Advanced, and start each Monday. You can choose to attend a course for any number of weeks. The small number of students per class ensures effective teaching with the flexibility to meet your individual needs, in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. On the first day of tuition you are given a placement test to assess your level of English. You are then assigned to an appropriate class with students of similar English Language ability and requirements. There is a special programme of study at each level and our grading system enables you to move to a higher level when the first programme is completed. Your teachers monitor your progress with weekly assessment and feedback sessions to help you achieve your goals. Course Content Courses are designed to optimise your progress and meet your objectives. They provide the language skills needed to communicate effectively in English. Teachers focus on practical communication skills with emphasis on speaking and listening. Vocabulary, idioms and grammar are practised in interesting and stimulating ways to achieve fluency. All our courses have a cultural component to give you an insight into the Irish culture and the Irish way of life. COMBINATION COURSES A Standard Course of 20 hours per week may be supplemented with 5 hours individual tuition (One-to-One). The content of these 5 hours tuition focuses on your particular needs, objectives and goals.

First Certificate in English / Certificate in Advanced English / Certificate of Proficiency in English The highly intensive Cambridge Courses are designed to prepare you for the five components of the examinations (reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking). Prior to arrival, you do a pre-test so that you can make an informed decision on which examination course to join. Our teachers are experienced Cambridge examiners with many years of experience in examination preparation. You benefit from a combination of examination techniques and general language study. Supplementary examination practice takes place free of charge two afternoons per week.
