The General English Standard programme aims to develop communication skills and an all-round understanding of the English language. This is ideal for those students who wish to learn English and at the same time enjoy a holiday in an English-speaking environment. General English Standard is taught at six different levels of English, from beginner to advanced. The course covers reading, writing, listening and speaking and also essential grammar, pronunciation, colloquial language, idioms and vocabulary. As there is no fixed duration for this course you can continue it for as long as you wish. Timetable: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 10:30 Break 11:00 to 12:30 Class size – maximum 12 students. This course is available all year round.

Our General English Intensive Language programme extends the General English Standard experience into the afternoon. The extra lessons are given in a smaller group which makes this course more effective. This combination means that it is a very reasonably priced study option. Timetable: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 10:30 Break 11:00 to 12:30 - Class size – maximum 12 students. 13:00 to 14:30 - Class size – maximum 8 students.

These exams take place in March, June and December each year (except for CPE which is only held in June and December). The courses normally start 13 weeks before the Cambridge ESOL exam dates (please refer to our terms and conditions for the actual dates), except for the March session which is 9 weeks long. Exam applications must be made 10 - 12 weeks before the exam. Late applications are accepted up to 5 - 6 weeks prior to the exam date (additional costs may be incurred). Late entries are accepted subject to the results of an assessment test. Students should be at intermediate or upper intermediate level for FCE, CAE and CPE and at lower intermediate for PET. Should students of a lower level wish to join the course, they may book a General English course several weeks or months before the starting dates of the exam course. The IELTS exam tests students from Elementary level onwards. This is an alternative way to prepare students who require an English qualification in order to enter University. Exams take place every month and applications must be made 5 - 6 weeks before the IELTS exam dates. However, the local exam centre may not have any places left for new exam applicants. This is beyond our control and availability will be checked before your booking is confirmed. The IELTS courses run throughout the year. IELTS tests the complete range of English language skills which will commonly be encountered by students when studying or training in the medium of English. All candidates take the same Listening and Speaking Modules. There is an option of either Academic or General Training Reading and Writing Modules. The Academic module is suitable for candidates planning to undertake higher education study. The General Training module is suitable for candidates planning to undertake non academic training or work experience, or for immigration purposes. Elanguest’s Business English Standard Mini Group course is designed for the highly motivated business person. The aim of the course is to help business personnel to communicate confidently in a global English speaking, business environment. This specialist program requires the student to have an intermediate to advanced level of English. Taught in small, personal groups of six, the course covers the following topics. - Report and contract reading and writing - Role-play business meetings and interviews - Preparation for conducting presentations and business assignments Topics may vary to include marketing, banking and any other business-related issues depending on the students’ needs. All our Business English teachers are highly trained professionals who have Diplomas in Business, Banking and other related Business studies. All are English native speakers and have been teaching Business English for many years. Timetable: Monday to Friday 09:00 to 10:30 Break 11:00 to 12:30 Class size – maximum 6 students. This Course is available all year round.

The Business English Intensive Mini Group course continues into the afternoon with another one and a half hours of lessons. The afternoon lessons offer the student more time to explore the topics which have been covered during the morning and to deepen their understanding of the subject. Students will also have the opportunity to give presentations in class, and receive feedback from the teacher. This is also a useful option for special business groups who can use the extra time to concentrate on the specific needs of their industry.
