Intensive English This is ideal if you want to go to university, improve your job prospects in your own country or for simply communicating with English speakers all over the world. We have different levels of English in the school and will test you to put you in the most suitable English course for you, so you can learn English as fast as you can. We have an average of 10 students per class with a maximum of 14 students in most classes. In two of our larger classrooms we allow 16 students. You must be 16 or over to join a class. This course has all of the elements of the 15 hour per week general English course plus 6 hours per week of skills work focusing on reading, writing, listening and speaking. Experience has shown that most students who want to go to university, for example, and need to reach a particular IELTS grade, are more likely to succeed if they take this more intensive 21 hour course leading up to the IELTS course. ㆍIncrease your general writing skills – focusing on sentence, paragraph and overall structure;

ㆍGive you the opportunity to learn more about the places to be visited on school trips;

ㆍTest regularly;

ㆍProvide an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and regular reports and an initial tutorial; to help you complete the course successfully.

General English The course quickly improves your English reading, writing, speaking and listening. It will also help to improve your English vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation. All courses happen in the morning and classes run from 09:00 to 12:15 including a 15 minute break. The maximum class size is 14 students and you must be 16 or over to join a class. Our 15 hour General English Course is ideal for those who have work or family commitments. IELTS Preparation . Total length of course: 6 weeks . Three modules, each 2 weeks long . Study for 2, 4 or 6 weeks. . All 4 skills covered . In addition, free access to the best online IELTS course available . The maximum class size is 14 students and you must be 16 or over to join a class. . Before you apply you should either: Already have IELTS 5.0 or Have successfully completed an Intermediate level Develop your IELTS Reading skills. Practice in: scanning, skimming, understanding main ideas, reading for detail, understanding opinions, increasing reading speed. Strengthen your ability to complete specific IELTS Reading tasks by focusing on strategies for the specific tasks. Enhance your IELTS Listening skills by giving you practice in areas such as: predicting information and using key words for prediction, listening for specific information and avoiding distracters. Improve your ability to complete specific IELTS listening tasks by focusing on strategies for the specific tasks such as multiple choice, completing notes and sentence completion. Help raise your awareness of IELTS Writing Type 1 and Type 2 tasks by giving you practice in areas such as: coherence, sentence structure and communicative quality. Provide you with opportunities to develop and practice the skills needed to complete the IELTS Speaking test. Expand your active vocabulary in topics of particular relevance to the speaking and writing IELTS papers.
