The OHC English centre in Stratford-upon-Avon occupies a quiet building with a large garden, situated beside the beautiful river Avon and just 5 minutes’ walk over the medieval stone bridge from the centre of the town with its drama theatres, shops, cafes, bars and riverside gardens. As Stratford is a small town, all our carefully-selected homestay accommodation is within easy travelling distance of the college. The centre itself has a friendly, informal atmosphere where students find it easy to make friends and to relax and concentrate on their English studies. General English Course GENERAL ENGLISH (15hours/week): Students join multi-national language classes and study 15 hours per week, following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to their level of ability. This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. GENERAL ENGLISH PLUS (20 hours/week): Students join multi-national language classes and study 20 hours per week following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to their level of ability with additional work on fluency and pronunciation. This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. INTENSIVE ENGLISH (30 hours/week): Students join multi-national language classes and study 30 hours per week following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains and competencies appropriate to their level of ability. to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context and to make maximum language gains during their time studying with Oxford House.
