센트럴런던에 두개의 학교건물을 두고, 하나는 하이드파크근처에, 다른 하나는 대영박물관 근처에 위치하고 있습니다. 일반영어과정뿐만 아니라 다양한 프로그램이 제공되고 있습니다. 학비가 무척 저렴합니다. 하루에 많은 클래스를 운영하므로 조용한 분위기는 아니나, 학비가 싼것을 감안할때 크게 기대하지 않는다면 괜찮은 학교라고 볼수 있습니다.

[In the Normal classes]: . all teachers are fully-qualified graduates and holders of RSA/Cambridge CTEFLA or the Cambridge/RSA CELTA or the more advanced RSA/Cambridge DipTEFLA or the Cambridge/RSA DELTA . maximum class sizes are: 14 for Mornings, 16 for Lunchtimes and Afternoons . your progress is continually monitored and you are tested every four weeks to enable you to move to a higher level. In normal classes there are 13 different levels, ranging from beginners to proficiency level . it is possible to use the language laboratory any time from 9am till 8:30pm [The Practice Classes are cheaper because]: . Practice classes are offered in association with Stanton Teacher Training Courses, our non-profit training organisation. . The classes are taught by a variety of teachers: some of them are teacher trainees studying for their Cambridge /RSA Certificates in English Language Teaching to Adults (Cambridge /RSA CELTA). . All teaching-practice sessions are under the supervision of course trainers who are experienced teachers of English. Others are full-time Stanton teachers . they are larger, with a maximum of 22 students in each class . there are only four or five different levels at any one time . it is not possible to use the self-access language laboratory e. there are no regular monthly tests f. they do not include specific preparation for the Cambridge examinations In both 'practice' and 'normal' classes: . the direct method is used, so that students speak English from the start. Each 3-hour session concentrates on understanding and grammar with one teacher, and conversational skills with another. This is the same for practice classes . teaching facilities include a language laboratory, cassettes, video and overhead projectors . when you arrive at Stanton School you take an initial placement test and then an interview to establish your level . certificates are issued at the end of both courses showing the period studied and the level attained . fees include all tuition, audio-visual material, club activities (except entrance tickets), orientation material, interim reports, Certificates of Studies, etc. Textbooks are not included. . courses may be reserved to begin on any Monday (except Public Holidays) - please reserve to begin on the Tuesday in a week with a public Holiday on the Monday.
* LOCATION: Stanton School of English * COURSE DATES: 7/11-7/22, 8/8-8/19 * HOURS PER WEEK: 20 minimum * COST: 514.00 GBP per person * NUMBER OF TRAINEES: Maximum number of 16 * COURSE PARTICIPANTS: Elementary or secondary schools teachers of English * MINIMUM ENGLISH LEVEL: Equivalent to Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) [STRUCTURE OF THE COURSE] This 2-week course is similar in structure to the longer 4-week Cambridge CELTA course for native speakers of English. The course has been adapted to the needs of non-native speakers of English. In the Language Learning section students will work on their grammatical awareness and how to make their lessons more communicative. The methodology area will focus on classroom management, making your own materials, using a course book in class and regular observation of classes. At the end of the course the trainees will be given a Stanton Teacher Training Report and a grading based on their performance throughout the course. Students can observe a minimum of 2 hours per week. More observations can be arranged if required.
The CELTA Teacher Training Course is an intensive four-week programme for those wishing to prepare for a career in English Language Teaching to adults. It covers the theory, materials, and practical techniques of teaching at levels ranging from beginners to late intermediate, and aims to provide a basis from which teachers can expand as they subsequently gain in experience. The course leads to the award of the Cambridge CELTA, formerly known as the RSA/Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults (CTEFLA). To be accepted for the course, applicants must demonstrate that they have an awareness of language and a competence in English, both written and spoken, that will enable them to follow the course and complete the assignments. Participants would normally be university graduates or teachers qualified in another subject, with little or no experience of ELT. The course is also suitable for teachers with some experience of ELT but having had no formal training. Applicants who have teaching experience but no degree or formal teaching qualification may also be eligible, at the discretion of the Training Course Director. Acceptance on the course is not automatic, and all applicants will have to complete a pre-acceptance Language Awareness Test and interview either at the Centre's premises in London or by a combination of fax and telephone in the case of applicants resident overseas.
