> English and Academic Skills (EAS) Presessional Programme The English & Academic Skills (EAS) Presessional Course is the first step towards your undergraduate or postgraduate degree at the University of Birmingham. Successful completion of the Presessional course components (including the EAP and BME where necessary) will allow you to progress onto your academic programme without having to retake IELTS The EAS Presessional course runs from September. > English for Academic Purposes (EAP) Presessional Programme: 20, 15, 10 and 6 week courses. Preparation for academic study at the University of Birmingham. Students with conditional offers have the option of attending one of these courses instead of retaking IELTS. The EAP Presessional runs from May. > Business Management English (BME) Presessional Programme: A preparatory academic programme for postgraduates with conditional offers to study at the Birmingham Business School. The BME covers a range of business-related subjects and is offered in 19, 15, 10 and 6-week courses. This programme is also suitable for business professionals. The BME Presessional runs from May. > International Foundation Year Programme (IFP) in Business, Law, Arts & Social Sciences: A one year course for international students who would like to study an undergraduate degree at a UK university, but who do not have the necessary entry requirements. Successful completion guarantees a place at the University of Birmingham. The IFP Programme runs from September. > Study Year Abroad programme: Experience of studying in the UK as part of an undergraduate degree. Courses of up to 1 year with English and academic modules, often providing credits towards a home degree. > Three-week Academic English Skills For students who wish to develop their language skills and experience English culture for 6 weeks and/or 3 weeks during the summer. Can be combined with other courses for a longer period of study.
