University Foundation Programme A one-year programme designed for international students looking for entry to UK higher education. Designed for motivated students looking for a supported and focused bridge programme from international high school to a range of extremely good universities. University Foundation Programme (UFP) You study for one year to gain the UFP. The programme provides you with an important base, ready to build on at university, and allows you to learn at a detailed and challenging level. Quick facts: . Age:16 1/2+ . English level: IELTS 4.5+, or intermediate Fast-Track University Foundation Programme At CATS we offer both the traditional UFP as well as a Fast-Track 2-term version. The Fast-Track UFP is designed for students who are able to complete the full-year programme within a shorter period of time, and is ideal for highly ambitious students or those requiring additional revision for examination retakes. A-level Programme A level is the classic route to university in the UK, and is highly regarded by the best universities around the world. It is designed for confident students who aspire to the most competitive degree courses at UK universities and beyond. A level A level (Advanced Level) qualifications are usually obtained after two years of studying. The first year used to be called AS level and the second year used to be called A2, so you might recognise those names. You will expect to study A levels in three different subjects, although occasionally we advise students to study four subjects for specialist courses. A levels are ideal for focused and hardworking students in their last two years of high school. If you excel in a particular area you will like A levels as the courses allow you to explore a small number of subjects in a lot of depth, providing specialised preparation towards further study. A levels are the most common route for entry to Higher Education in the UK, so you can be sure your hard work will be recognised by all the top universities in the UK and around the world. GCSE/Pre programmes provide you with a high quality secondary education foundation ready for you to decide on the right study pathway to a UK university. GCSE The GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) is a flexible two year programme which provides a broad and solid secondary education. The qualification is internationally recognised and is normally obtained after two years study. High School Term This programme is designed to give you an insight into a British education and culture, while improving your language skills through the study of subjects that really interest you. You follow an individual study programme to improve your English language and your understanding of British culture. You will follow a timetable similar to one of our other courses, alongside other students taking the full course. If you enjoy it then you can always extend your stay and study the full course.
