We offer ESL programs to international students who are not yet eligible for degree programs. There are 7 levels from beginning to advanced. Students are placed based on their English levels after taking a test. They study 18 hours per week at the school.

ESL Programs ESL 11 A--Low Beginning Conversation, Grammar, and Reading, Level 1. Intensive conversation, grammar, and reading skills for beginning students who are non-native speakers of English. Practice in spontaneous conversation, small group discussion, and introduction to English grammar. ESL 11 B--Beginning Conversation, Grammar, and Reading, Level 2. Continuation of intensive conversation, grammar, and reading skills for beginning students who are non-native speakers of English. Practice in spontaneous conversation, small group discussion, and introduction to English grammar. (Prerequisite: ESL 11A or equivalent) ESL 11 C--High Beginning Conversation, Grammar, and Reading, Level 3 Continuation of intensive conversation, grammar, and reading skills. Student should possess basic skills in conversation and grammar and be able to read simple articles by course completion. (Prerequisite: ESL 11B or equivalent) ESL 21 A--Intermediate Conversation, Reading, and Writing Intensive intermediate level conversation, reading and basic writing skills for students who are non-native speakers of English. (Prerequisite: ESL 11 C or equivalent) ESL 21 B--High Intermediate Conversation, Reading, and Writing Continuation of intensive intermediate level conversation, reading and basic writing skills for students who are non-native speakers of English. (Prerequisite: ESL 21 A or equivalent) ESL 21 C--Advanced Conversation, Reading, and Writing Continuation of intensive intermediate level conversation, reading and basic writing skills for students who are non-native speakers of English. (Prerequisite: ESL 21 B or equivalent) ESL 31--Advanced Comprehension Designed for advanced students who have mastered basic English but want improved comprehension skills and more practice in daily conversation. This course draws on newspapers, magazines, and audio and video tapes. (Prerequisite: ESL 11 C or equivalent) ESL 35--TOEFL Preparation This course is designed to prepare students for the Internet Based TOEFL (iBT) examination. It covers Speaking (Independent and Integrated), Writing (Independent and Integrated), Listening and Reading, as well as English Structure. Class meets 18 hours per week, including three hours of simulated tests in the computer lab. (Prerequisite: ESL 21 C or equivalent.)
