Intensive English Program You will learn English quickly in our small classes with friendly teachers. Classes have an average of 5 students with a minimum of 2 students and a maximum of 10. You get personal attention from your teacher and will have a lot of opportunity to speak English to your other classmates and teacher. A computer lab is available with Internet access. We have a student lounge with cable TV and video games.. Conversa’s curriculum is designed for the student to learn English in a short time. We have classes for beginning to advanced students. The Intensive Group English Class consists of three classes: Integrated English Skills, Conversation & Pronunciation and Elective Classes. [Integrated English Skills] This course combines grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening together so you learn English in a natural way. Vocabulary is reinforced throughout the lessons. You will learn to use English for your job or to prepare for admission into a university. (15 hours/week) [Conversation and Pronunciation] This class has improves your conversation skills under the guidance of your instructor. Pronunciation exercises on difficult sounds help students speak clearer English. (3 hours / week) [Elective classes] Elective classes are your opportunity to choose from one of several classes. Each class has a different theme. This allows you to pick the class you are interested in. We offer several different classes each session. A session is a 4-week period. Once the Elective class is over, you will pick a new Elective class. Below are some examples of electives we have offered at Conversa (4.5 hours/week). Learning about Cincinnati This class teaches you about the history of Cincinnati and Cincinnati’s sports teams and what it currently offers in culture, entertainment, recreation and more. There are field trips to local places of interest. English through Media Learn English and experience American culture through film, TV, music, the internet and more. Current Events Improve your speaking skills by discussing issues happening around the world. Writing Workshop: Improve the important academic skill of writing while increasing your vocabulary. TOEFL * not offered every month Learn how to take the test, practice with audio tapes, and learn advanced grammar & vocabulary.
