The English Language Center (TELC) The English Language Center (TELC)는 뉴욕시에서 가장 큰 ESL 프로그램입니다. 일년에 약 7천명의 학생들이 등록하고 있습니다. TELC는 라과디아 커뮤니키 컬리지(LaGuardia Community College)의 평생교육 부서의 하나입니다. 1971년 이후로 TELC는 다양한 영어 프로그램을 제공해 오면서 다양한 국적의 학생들의 문화적 학문적 요구를 맞춰 주었습니다. TELC의 ESL 프로그램은 대학으로부터 입학허가를 받은 학생들에게 제공되는 영어 프로그램입니다. 초급부터 고급까지 과정은 개설되어 있습니다. 듣기와 말하기 능력은 낮은 레벨에서 강조됩니다. 반면, 읽기와 쓰기 능력은 고급 레벨에서 더 집중적으로 수업합니다. 가장 최고급 레벨인 ESL099와 ESL098 과정은 정규 학업 한 과목 혹은 두 과목과 병행해 들을 수 있습니다. ESL098과 ESL097은 기초 코스와 수강 가능하기도 합니다.

Day Programs The Day Intensive Program (DIP) is the largest intensive ESL program in New York City and one of the largest in the United States. The program offers:
ㆍFull-time academic ESL instruction.
ㆍTwo schedules: Monday through Friday (morning program) or Monday through Thursday (afternoon program). See Yearly Calendar for more details.
ㆍ10 levels of proficiency, from beginner to advanced.
ㆍA comprehensive curriculum that helps students develop the academic English language skills needed to succeed in college, graduate school or a professional career.
ㆍSpecialized workshops and electives that intermediate and advanced students can choose from, including: Grammar, Vocabulary, Dance as a Second Language, Business English, American Pop Culture and many more.
ㆍCollege Advisement.
ㆍEntrance to City University of New York without the TOEFL upon completion of the highest level. [Evening English Program] The Evening English Program is an excellent program for students to prepare for college and/or improve their job situation.
ㆍThe curriculum helps students develop spoken and written English, as well as academic skills.
ㆍClasses are scheduled Monday through Thursday evenings.
ㆍSix levels of proficiency from beginner to advanced.

ㆍEntrance to City University of New York without the TOEFL upon completion of the highest level of the four-night program. [Saturday English Program] The Saturday English Program is designed for students who need to improve their listening, speaking, and grammar skills.
ㆍThe curriculum incorporates authentic language situations and materials to help students function in their daily life.
ㆍThe program provides five hours per week of ESL instruction.
ㆍClasses are scheduled Saturday mornings (see Yearly Calendar for more details).

TELC is located in Long Island City, Queens, 15 minutes from Manhattan (Times Square and Grand Central Station) and within walking distance of the #7, E, M, N, R, and G subway lines. We’re in the C-Building on the corner of 30 th Street and Thomson Avenue.
