1983년에 개설된 IEP는 영어집중과정과 미국문화를 배울수 있는 프로그램을 제공합니다. 영어실력 향상뿐 아니라 미국문화에 잘 적응할수 있도록 하고 있습니다. Institutional TOEFL을 학기 시작마다 제공하고 있으며 480점 이상은 중급반에 편성이 됩니다.

Intensive English Program
The Intensive English Program (IEP) is an academic support service designed to help international students enhance their academic success by improving their English language proficiency and increasing their familiarity with US culture. Small classes and individual attention characterize Drake's IEP, where intermediate and advanced level courses are offered year-round. Course placement will be based on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Drake IEP students have full access to university facilities, including the Library, Health Center, Career Center, recreational facilities, Counseling Center, and, of course, the International Center. They may participate in any campus event or student activity that is available to degree-seeking students. IEP students will learn to use on-campus computers to access campus services, library holdings, faculty and each other via Drake e-mail and the MyDUSUS system. The IEP is offered during the Fall (15 weeks, August – December), Spring (15 weeks, January – May) and Summer (5-10 weeks, June – August). All students in the IEP must have a high school diploma and at least a beginning knowledge of the English language.
