Intensive English Program (IEP)는 대학을 진학하기 전에 영어가 부족한 학생들을 위해 개설되었습니다. Intermediate과 Advanced 레벨을 제공하고 있으며 쓰기, 문법, 말하기등의 과목을 공부하게 됩니다. 현재 초급과정은 받지 않고 있습니다. 어느정도의 영어실력이 있는 학생들만 입학이 가능합니다. Emporia State University offers both intermediate and advanced courses for students who need to improve their communication skills. We do not offer a beginning level; therefore the recommended minimum TOEFL score for entry into our Intensive English Program is 400 (undergraduate) or 450 (graduate). The duration of time to complete the Intensive English Program is based on the English Proficiency Test score as well as the student’s initiative and performance in class. Students may be allowed to enroll in one or more academic courses while enrolled in the Intensive English Program depending on their placement scores.

The ESU Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed to aid students who need to improve their English skills before entering an academic classroom. IEP offers both intermediate and advanced level courses in Reading, Grammar, Writing and Speaking. ESU does not currently offer a beginning level course. NOTE: Students whose language ability is at the beginning level will be placed into the intermediate level classes. While this can be challenging, the beginning level student who works hard often passes into the advanced level classes at the same time as their intermediate level classmates. The duration of time to complete the Intensive English Program is based on the English Proficiency Test score and the student's performance in class. Intermediate level students usually complete the program in two semesters, and advanced level students complete it in one semester. Students may be allowed to enroll in one or more academic classes while enrolled in IEP, depending on their placement scores.
