Intensive English At GLI, you will find teachers and staff who care about you and your progress, whether you are learning English for general purposes or for continued academic study. You will study alongside other motivated students from around the world and gain confidence in your ability to communicate with others. • Small classes, between 4 - 12 students (maximum 12) • Year-round program with sessions beginning every 4 weeks • Full-time classes 25 hours per week Daily Schedule • All areas: reading, writing, grammar, listening, speaking, pronunciation,culture • Beginning to highly advanced courses • Very diverse student population • iBT TOEFL preparation • Free one-to-one tutoring • University Placement Service - undergraduate, graduate, and technical/professional • Conditional admission to U.S. colleges and universities • Calendar of social, recreational, and cultural activities GLI offers a highly personalized education. Combined Intensive Program for Professionals The perfect option for more limited budgets and for those who prefer the dynamic interplay of group interaction. Combine the intensive, customized one-to-one training of GLI’s Executive English Program with group interaction in a dynamic oral communications course! This program offers 25 hours per week of intensive, highly practical professional training for professionals in all fields and industries. After a comprehensive intake assessment and diagnosis of needs, an individualized program—including both one-to-one and group training—will be developed to address your specific professional and personal objectives in English. Sessions begin every 4 weeks, year-round, and participants may register for as many 4-week terms as they wish without ever repeating material. The end date is flexible, allowing for shorter programs.
Executive English Program You tell us your specific language needs in your current or future position, and GLI will develop a completely individualized program. No two programs are ever the same. And all courses are one-to-one, ensuring that no time is wasted. At GLI, each course is custom-designed to meet each participant’s specific professional needs in any field – marketing, human resources, corporate law, finance, engineering, research – and in any industry, including biotechnology, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, banking, and others. [Intensive] The intensive 30-hour US-based program allows you to be fully immersed in the language and culture, enabling you to focus exclusively on increasing your effectiveness in English. Adult programming (Minnesota) Combine practical English instruction with your group’s specific interest, whatever it may be! Let GLI’s experienced staff help you to design a specialized program for your group. Youth programming (Minnesota and Florida) Language and culture programs for children and teens may range from highly academic to recreational vacation programs. Minnesota programs are available year-round and feature Family Homestay accommodations, while Florida programs (summer only) are held at beautiful university campus facilities.

GLI is located in the metropolitan area of St. Paul / Minneapolis, Minnesota. The "Twin Cities", home to more than three million people, offer not only excellent theater, professional sports, restaurants, and entertainment, but also the United States' largest shopping center, the Mall of America. GLI is easily accessible from the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport (MSP), which offers frequent non-stop service from both Europe and Asia. And the grand Mississippi River is just a short walk away.
The weekend is a great time for students to experience and learn more about the Twin Cities (St. Paul and Minneapolis) and its people. GLI organizes activities each session. Also, our Director of Student Services will help you find other activities and events that interest you. In addition, GLI staff will help you with arrangements for travel within Minnesota, the US, and abroad.
