Intensive ESL Programs Our Intensive ESL program offers four levels of language instruction, ranging from beginner (Level II) to advanced (Level V). Each level requires one semester of study. The level of instruction for each new student is determined by the placement test score. At Kirkwood Community College, we offer: Small class sizes. Several open computer labs. A faculty-staffed writing lab. Dedicated ESL Faculty. Various special opportunities for additional practice using English. Structured and sequenced curriculum in all facets of second language acquisition. An orientation program for all new students. A Certificate of Completion (after completing Level 5 course work).
