The ESOL program is designed for non-native English speakers who want to improve their language and culture skills. It is intended for working professionals and students preparing for college study, vocational training, or entry into the workforce. An integrated skills approach for listening, speaking, reading, and writing components is adopted. There are four levels of instruction in the ESOL program, with each level lasting sixteen weeks. Students study from six to twenty-six hours per week in instructor-guided classes. The mission of Lone Star College-CyFair: English to Speakers of Other Languages Program is to provide a dynamic learning community, wherein excellence is distinguished by responsiveness and innovation, allowing non-native English speakers to acquire language and cultural adaptation skills necessary to function and succeed in the global society.
