American Language Studies(PALS)의 영어 프로그램은 외국인들에게 최상의 교육을 하는 것을 최우선 목표로 삼고 있습니다. 외국 학생들이 학문, 직업, 경영, 사회적으로 어떤 목적을 이루기 위해서든 최상의 교육을 제공하고자 합니다. 단순히 읽기, 쓰기, 말하기, 듣기 능력을 향상시킬 뿐 아니라 학생들의 세계 문화, 특히 미국 문화에 대한 이해력을 높입니다. PALS는 수업의 우수성을 유지하는 데 최선을 다하고 행정적인 면에서는 학생들의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 노력합니다. 프로그램은 학생 개개인의 지적, 인성적 개발을 고려해 다양한 교습법을 시도합니다. 강사진들을 PALS에 입학할 때 학생 저마다의 실력 차이가 크다는 사실을 인정하고 가능하면 많은 레벨을 유지하려고 합니다. 강의는 자격을 갖춘 경력이 있고 헌신적인 선생님들에 의해 진행되며 학급 규모는 작습니다. 영어 프로그램은 제2언어로 영어를 습득하는 원칙에 따라 구성되며 영어 학습을 교정치료로 보거나 이론적 혹은 교수법적인 방법으로 접근하지 않습니다. PALS의 영어 프로그램은 학생들의 언어와 의사소통 스킬을 강화하는 데 중점을 둡니다. 수업을 듣는 학생들은 주부에서부터 경영인, 직장인까지 다양합니다. PALS 학생들은 도서관, 어학 실습실, 컴퓨터 실습실, 식당, 레크리에이션 시설 등을 사용할 수 있습니다.

Intensive English Program The PALS Intensive English Program provides full-time and part-time English language and cultural instruction at four Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) proficiency levels (ranging from basic user B1 to proficient user C1). The courses are designed to prepare students that want to enter U.S. colleges, graduate school or overseas professional positions that require extensive use of English. The intensive program also serves English as a foreign language teachers and provides professional development opportunities to enhance their language instruction through short term study. PALS has successfully hosted professional development programs for middle, high school and university instructors from Japan, China and Brazil. Instruction at PALS is divided into academic semesters and special summer sessions. Students can enroll and start their PALS experience in any semester. Students must be at least 17 years of age and should have proof of having completed high school. Our regular academic semesters are 14 weeks long and start in September and January. Special summer semester is divided into two sessions. Summer (I) session is 5 weeks long while the Summer (II) session is 6 weeks long.

Piscataway lies on the south side of the Raritan Valley, a line of cities in Central Jersey, along with New Brunswick, Highland Park and South Plainfield. Piscataway lies 45 minutes southwest of New York City and 53 minutes northeast of Philadelphia. Piscataway is bordered by nine municipalities in Middlesex County, Union County, and Somerset County.
