ESL Program Once a student enrolls in the ESL program, the student is required to undergo testing. Once the student has completed test, he / she is will be placed into one of six levels, ranging from 0 to 5. This testing process is used to determine what curriculum and which classes the student will benefit from the most, based on that student’s vocabulary and grammatical understanding of English at the time the test is taken. The six levels are divided up into three general ‘level-blocks’: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. The students take a written, oral and listening test to determine their level. The tests are given free to the students upon enrollment. Beginner •216 Hours to complete level •Students with no background in English begin with covering a solid understanding of the basics: simple sentence construction, simple conversational phraseology and basic grammar and vocabulary. •This level will help students’ understanding of basic concepts and begin to be able to communicate basic ideas effectively in English. Students learn how to formulate questions, answer questions and participate in conversations on most basic topics with confidence. The basic rules of English grammar and essential vocabulary are built at these levels, giving the students a solid foundation. •After finishing this level, students will have more confidence in their ability to communicate in English, enabling them to begin their studies at the Intermediate level. Intermediate •216 Hours to complete level •This level help students improve their vocabulary and basic writing understanding that will help them push forward with confidence into the advanced level. Reading, more complex understanding of grammar and increasing vocabulary are the goals of the intermediate level. Advanced •216 Hours to complete level •The advanced level helps prepare students to enter US colleges and universities by emphasizing advanced academic writing skills, more complex and academic oriented topics of conversation and more complex vocabulary. The curriculum at the advanced level is more TOEFL based, emphasizing concepts that recur often in TOEFL.

TOEFL Preparation This course is designed to prepare students for the TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language). The TOEFL iBT test measures the English proficiency and academic skills of nonnative speakers of English. It is required primarily by English-language colleges and Universities. Additionally, institutions such as government agencies, businesses, or scholarship programs may require this test.
