The Academy at Harvard Square is the teaching center of the JG (former HSA) Corporation. HSA, with its Research and Development-based SEI Institute (Spoken English & Integrated Task Institute), is an international education institution located near Harvard University (Cambridge, Massachusetts) that focuses on English teaching and R&D for both ESL (English as Second Language) and EFL (English as Foreign Language) learners as well as educational project development for governments or schools. » Curriculum The Academy’s curriculum ranges from conversational English training to academic English training appropriate for examinations such as the TOEFL, SAT, and GRE, from general English communications arts (discussion, presentation, business writing) to professional development courses (pre-MBA, Medicine & English, Nursing & English, etc.). The Academy at Harvard Square has also developed and published its own educational materials. Its publishing repertoire includes TOEFL iBT preparation books based on the knowledge and expertise accumulated from years of academic English-education experience. The Academy at Harvard Square offers Intensive English Program jointly withThe University of Massachusetts Boston. » Goal The Academy at Harvard Square (HSA/JG)’s goal for English education is to provide a human development program with the purpose of enabling individuals to achieve their dreams by helping them to acquire both a global language and a global mindset. The Academy also intends to help governments (either foreign or US) solve their social problems that originate from an inequality in access to globalization and English language education. The Academy, whose mission is to provide high-quality English-education to immigrants in the United States and citizens of foreign countries, intends to use its English-education programming as the main tool to transform individuals into prime human resources, acting as competent and resourceful “global” citizens. In this regard, JG (HSA) has developed R&D, teaching, and project management consulting functions with the purpose of generating significant impacts on human development, social development, and international economic development.
