TLC-Kirksville은 대학 진학, 생활영어 및 비즈니스 영어를 향상 시키고자 하는 학생들을 위해 전세계에서 온 학생들에게 영어 기술과 그 적용 방법을 가르쳐왔습니다. 9단계로 세분화 된 집중영어 프로그램은 언어를 습득하고 사용하는 모든 분야에 있어서 대학 진학 준비를 하는데 초점을 맞춰 커리큘럼이 짜여 있습니다. 시험 준비 및 학업 목적의 Writing이 커리큘럼 전반에 들어가 있으며 학생들은 각 코스의 목표에 맞게 Speaking을 많이 할 수 있도록 격려하고 Listening을 연습하여 학습 기술을 배울 수 있도록 하고 있습니다. 대학진학 및 비자와 관련된 상담이 센터에서 이루어 지고 있으며 대학 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 ID 카드를 발급 받습니다.
사설학원이지만 대학 내에 위치하여 대학부설 어학원 역할을 하고 있습니다. 다른 학교들과는 달리 모두 작은 소도시에 위치하고 있어 안전하고 전통있는 미국문화를 배울수 있어서 학생들이 영어실력을 향상하고 문화를 체험하기에 알맞은 곳입니다.

Intensive English Program The academic program is carefully designed to help you achieve your language learning goals.
ㆍPlacement test to accurately determine your starting leve
ㆍThirteen four-week sessions per year
ㆍThe equivalent of one-hundred 50-minute lessons per session
ㆍUnique, optional sixth hour daily at no extra cost
ㆍNine levels of instruction plus post-graduate courses Classes meet Monday through Friday. The equivalent of twenty-five 50-minute lessons are offered each week. Classes include structure and speaking, reading, writing, and core plus courses. Core plus courses give advanced students (Levels 7-9) the opportunity to study English language skills through application courses such as American Culture, Debate, Morphology, American and Local History, TOEFL and IELTS Preparation, and Film and Novel Reviews. NINE LEVELS OF INSTRUCTION Beginning - Levels 1, 2, and 3 When you complete Level 3, you will be able to:

Core Plus Courses At advanced levels, you can focus your English study by choosing core plus courses. You can work on areas that interest you or practice skills that your advisor recommends before you attend the university. Please note: Not all core plus courses are offered every session or at every center, but you will have a choice of several.

The town of Kirksville, Missouri has a population of approximately 17,000. This number will vary depending on the number of students in town for academic classes. Kirksville is a college town with two major universities of higher learning with the renowned school of Osteopathy neighboring the prestigious and innovative Truman State University (TSU). Thousand Hills State Park, west of Kirksville, provides an environment where students can enjoy water sports, fishing and paddle boating as well as sightseeing, swimming and cooking out in season. The geography of Kirksville places it nearly equal distances to three U.S. metropolitan cities: Kansas City, St. Louis, and Des Moines, IA, each of which services international flights. Aquatic and amusement parks, zoos, and museums are a part of recreational activities, depending on the metropolitan area. In addition, areas of cultural activity are available, such as those along the Mississippi River to Kirksville’s east in the towns of Quincy, Illinois and Hannibal, Missouri (historic home of Mark Twain). These towns as well as the Jefferson City/Columbia, Missouri area can be reached in 1 ½ to 2 hours by car.
Activities such as “Popcorn and a Movie” and “Building Bridges,” a conversation meet-and-greet with Truman State University students also take place at TLC - Kirksville. Monthly student field trips enhance the total TLC - Kirksville experience.
