코네티컷대학부설 어학원 American English Language Institute(이하 UCAELI)는 1990년에 설립되었으며 장래 미국대학진학과 생활영어 실력향상을 목표로 수 많은 학생들이 매년 UCAELI의 프로그램에 등록하고 있습니다. UCAELI의 교과과정은 각 학생의 학습능력에 맞춘 지도와 최적의 학습환경 제공을 목표로 만들어 졌으며 일반영어 프로그램 이외에도 대학 진학준비 프로그램제공과 문화이벤트 개최등의 폭 넓은 분야에서의 국제교류와 영어교육을 실천하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 대학진학을 희망하는 학생에게는 대학진로 상담등을 하고 있습니다. 교실수업과 함께 문화활동이나 코네티컷주 관광지 방문등, 각종 야외활동을 통하여 영어를 사용할 기회를 제공하고 생활에서 영어를 실천할 수 있는 학습환경을 조성하였습니다. UCAELI학생들은 대학 캠퍼스내 각종 시설을 모두 이용 할 수 있습니다. UCAELI은 일정기준 이상에 부합되는 어학원들만으로 구성된 교육연맹 AAIEP(미국 집중 영어강좌 연맹)의 가맹 어학원입니다.

Intensive English Program Our full-time Intensive English Program (IEP) prepares students for serious academic and professional work. IEP is offered during the fall and spring semesters, and provides students opportunities to improve their English communication skills. Students attend both morning and afternoon classes, as well as fun activities and select cultural events on the weekends. In addition, as a part of the UConn community, UCAELI students are welcome to attend university-sponsored functions and participate in intercultural events hosted by the International Center.
Summer Intensive English Plus Program Our summertime Intensive English PLUS Program offers intermediate/advanced students both Intensive English study and travel opportunities that make learning fun. Trips focus on New England history and culture, and offer students a chance to visit exciting cities like New York and Boston. Classroom activities build on the knowledge, language and experiences gained during these trips. PLUS students will also have the chance to make new friends when they meet and talk with native speakers during the Conversation Partners program. All of the PLUS courses are designed to improve communication skills through highly interactive student-centered activities.
Summer English Experience Our Summer English Experience (SEE) Program offers high school students a three-week session that combines intensive English study, recreation, and fun trips. The SEE Program provides students ages 13 - 17 a chance to experience cross-cultural learning with international peers. SEE students attend academic courses taught by experienced, enthusiastic instructors who enjoy working with teenagers. Set on a major public university campus, the SEE Program serves as a safe introduction to university life. SEE students can gain self-knowledge and self-confidence as they acquire English skills through interactive, experiential learning.
