Intensive English Program
ㆍIntensive program – 20 hours of instruction per week
ㆍSix levels: beginning through advanced
ㆍAll skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
ㆍOptional extra classes (TOEFL, TOEIC, GRE, Pronunciation, Professional English, and more)
ㆍExtra-intensive program in summer – 28 hours per week
ㆍAcademic resources: free tutoring and writing help, libraries, computer laboratories, multi-media language learning laboratories etc.
ㆍFull calendar of student activities and events for daily English practice Class Schedule
ㆍIEP students attend classes 20 hours or more per week. Classes are every day, usually from morning through mid-afternoon.
ㆍStudents at the intermediate level (level 3) and higher may also enroll in extra optional classes in the late afternoon.
ㆍMany IEP students follow a schedule similar to this one: - Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary: Monday through Friday, 10:00-12:00 - Speaking and Listening: Monday through Thursday, 1:00-3:30
Academic English Program
ㆍThree levels: high intermediate through high advanced
ㆍInstruction in all English language skills with a special focus on English skills needed for success in university classes
ㆍInstructional hours per week: 18 (intensive) or 23 (extra-intensive)
ㆍOptional extra classes (TOEFL Preparation, TOEIC Preparation, GRE Preparation, Pronunciation, Professional English, and more)
ㆍExtra-intensive program in summer – complete a full level of study in only 8 weeks
ㆍAcademic resources: free tutoring and writing help, libraries, computer laboratories, language learning laboratories, and more
ㆍFull calendar of student activities and events for daily English practice Class Schedule
ㆍStudents attend AEP classes for 18 hours or more each week. Classes are held every day, usually from morning through afternoon.
ㆍStudents may also enroll in extra optional classes in the late afternoon.
ㆍFor example, a student's Academic English Program schedule might look like this: - Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Vocabulary: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 8:00-9:50 - Speaking and Listening: Monday through Thursday, 1:00-3:30 - Group Study and Language Lab: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 10:00-12:00
