UNO has offered English as a Second Language to international students for nearly 35 years. Students are in class 21 hours every week. Sessions last eight weeks and are scheduled six times throughout the year. New ILUNO students collaborate with program instructors to evaluate their English ability and select language classes at one of six levels – beginning to advanced. Experienced instructors teach reading and vocabulary, grammar and writing, listening, pronunciation, TOEFL preparation, and critical-thinking skills. Instructors are available daily to meet with students to discuss their class work, language skills, and future academic plans.

Intensive English Program For nearly 30 years, the ILUNO Program has supported students from all over the world in learning English. The Intensive English Program ILUNO is highly customized to meet individual student needs. Students planning to pursue an undergraduate or graduate degree in the U.S., join ILUNO to achieve the English proficiency necessary for success in university level classes. Many come to ILUNO to experience American culture. Others come to learn English as a way to advance in their careers. ILUNO Classes ILUNO offers six levels of English classes: 2 Beginning Level, 2 Intermediate Level, and 2 Advanced Level. Students customize class selection based on their individual language learning goals, which may include TOEFL preparation, university language training, discussing world events, or learning informal modern English. [16 WEEKS First Time Students] New F-1 visa students coming to U.S. from a foreign country are required to sign up for two 8 week ILUNO sessions. [8 WEEKS Transfer Students] F-1 visa students transferring from another U.S. educational institution may sign up for only one 8 week ILUNO session.
