17세 이상, 고등학교를 졸업한 학생들만이 수업 가능한 곳입니다. 미국의 문화와 생활 등 생활에 근접한 영어를 배울수 있으며 또한 대학진학을 희망하는 학생들을 위한 수업도 제공되고 있습니다. 경험많은 강사진과 경영진들에 의해 작은부분 하나까지 잘 관리되고 있으며 10년 이상의 경험을 가지고 있는 강사진들은 모두 자격증을 소지하고 있습니다. 일년에 6개의 학기를 가지고 있으며 6개의 레벨로 구성되어 있습니다. 주당 25시간의 수업이 제공되고 있으며 영어과정을 이수한 학생에 한해 토플점수 없이 The University of New Orleans로 입학이 가능합니다.

Intensive English Language Program The Intensive English Language Program at the University of New Orleans offers one of the most effective and most diverse language programs in the United States. The IELP is designed especially for non-native English speakers who plan to study at an American university or who wish to improve their English for personal or professional reasons. IELP Goals
ㆍTo improve your English reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills
ㆍTo prepare you for study at an American college or university
ㆍTo introduce you to life and culture in the United States IELP offers you:

ㆍ20 hours of English instruction and a variety of interesting activities and events
ㆍComputer labs
ㆍSix levels of instruction from high-beginner to advanced (If you are coming to study with us on an F-1 (student) visa, we recommend that you have a basic knowledge of English.) Advantages of being an IELP Student
ㆍNo TOEFL is required to be admitted to a UNO degree program
ㆍAdvanced English placement at UNO is determined by the results of your final exit exam from the IELP
ㆍUse of UNO campus facilities including the fitness center, library, health clinic, computer laboratories, and the University Student Center Faculty and Staff
ㆍExperienced and dedicated professionals who are sensitive to your needs and cultural backgraound
ㆍCertified teachers with advanced degrees and an average of ten years experience teaching in the United States and abroad
ㆍQualified staff to help you adjust to life in the United States Classes & Schedule
ㆍYou will attend classes in grammar, writing, reading, listening, and speaking
ㆍOur full-time schedule is Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. (classes end early on Fridays, between 11:00 and 1:00, depending on the schedule)
ㆍStudents who are not here with F-1 (student) visas can choose to study part-time (10 hours per week). They can study either Grammar/Writing in the morning or Reading/Listening/Speaking in the afternoon. ㆍYou will take a placement test when you enter the IELP
ㆍExamination scores, homework, lab work, classroom performance, and attendance will be used to measure your achievement
ㆍStudent-teacher conferences and mid-term reports will be used to evaluate your progress
ㆍEach session, upon successful completion of all requirements, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement along with your final report
ㆍStudents who finish Level 6 will receive a Certificate of Program Completion Requirements for Admission to the IELP
ㆍYou must be at least 17 years old
ㆍYou must be a high-school graduate
ㆍYou or your sponsor must provide proof of financial support (F-1 students only)

걸프해안과 플로리다 해변에서 가깝고, 미시시피강이 있는 도시에서 Pontchartrain호수를 따른 주거지로 기숙사 가능하고 아파트 이용이 가능하다.
