The core program, which all full-time students follow, focuses on speaking and listening, reading, and writing. The goal is to help students to develop a solid foundation in English. More advanced students may also select from a number of elective courses, including pronunciation and test preparation. All courses focus on language and skills needed for academic and professional purposes. Throughout the program, students learn the cultural information needed for successful use of English. Upon completing their studies at the ELC, students may obtain a certification letter and a transcript showing all their course work and their grades. Admission to degree programs for PreEAP students Students wishing to study in a Vanderbilt University degree program need to apply separately to the appropriate university admissions office.
