학교 소개
영어 능력 향상과 미국 대학 진학을 하고 자 하는 국제학생들을 대상으로 집중 영어 과정을 제공 하고 있습니다. 소수 정원제로 실력있는 교사가 수업을 진행합니다. 한학기는 16주이지만 반학기도 수강 가능합니다. 단, 미시간 테스트 등과 같은 검정시험은 16주 풀 코스를 수료해야 시험을 볼 수 있습니다. 대학 기숙사, 홈스테이, 아파트 등을 숙소로 알선해주고 있습니다. 중급이상레벨의 학생들은 학부수업 청강이 가능합니다

General English
The ESL program curriculum was developed to prepare international students to study at American universities and to improve their English for professional purposes. The approach is rigorous, and academic English is emphasized. Full-time students are in classes 4-5 hours a day (20-26 hours per week), and they complete several hours of homework each day. Four levels of instruction are offered: High Beginning, Intermediate, High Intermediate and Advanced. A complete level covers 15 weeks (a regular Xavier semester). If space is available, students may enroll for a half term; special situations apply. Students in all four levels take required Core Courses. Core Courses include Listening and Speaking, Grammar, and Reading and Writing. Students can also qualify for optional, rotating electives. These courses vary each semester, and may include Oral Fluency, Career English, Pronunciation, and TOEFL preparation. Each course in the intensive English program has specific curricular goals, which lead to student learning outcomes.
