Preparing for an Australian Working Holiday on Your Own, Part 2: Visa Application?

Hello, everyone

AWork Overseas Study Institute here :)

When you think of the country most famous for working holidays,

which one comes to mind?

It's probably Australia, the holy land of working holidays.

Since Australia is in the Southern Hemisphere,

its seasons run opposite to Korea's.

That's why one dream many people share

is spending a summertime Christmas in Australia.

So in today's post,

for those of you dreaming of an Australian working holiday,

we're going to cover the Australian working holiday from start to finish.

< Working Holiday Visa? >

First of all, you can apply for the visa on the Australian Department of Home Affairs (immigration) website.

Go to the Australian Immigration Website (Click!)

You can apply for the visa on the site above,

1) Create an immigration account

2) Sign up

3) Log in

4) Apply for the visa

When applying for the visa, you need to enter your details accurately based on your passport,

including your country and nationality information,

as well as whether the visa type you're applying for is 1st or 2nd,

your approximate date of entry into Australia, and your resident registration number,

and just enter your English address and phone number.

5) Health-related questions

The next step has questions related to health, such as

- Whether you've stayed in another country for 3 months or more in the last 5 years

- Whether you'll need medical assistance in Australia

- Whether you'll be working or studying in a medical-related field in Australia

- Whether you'll be working or training at a childcare center in Australia

- Whether you'll be in an education-related situation for 3 months or more in Australia

- Whether you have high blood pressure, cancer, or a mental health condition

6) Crime and criminal record

The next step checks whether you have any issues related to crime or a criminal record,

and if none apply to you, simply check No.

7) Working holiday rules

The next step is a pledge to abide by

Australia's laws and working holiday rules, so just check Yes for all of them.

8) Review

In the final step, check carefully

that everything matches your passport details.

9) Document upload

This is the step where you upload scanned copies of your passport and bank balance certificate.

10) Document submission and payment

At this step, pay using a credit or debit card

that supports overseas payments.

Today we looked at how to apply

for the Australian working holiday visa by yourself.

Please refer to today's post to carefully double-check

your self-application for the visa before completing it :)
