Hello, this is Awork Academy.
Once your flight tickets and accommodation are ready, it's finally time to start packing for your language study abroad.
Something to be careful about here is that airline-specific baggage (checked baggage) rules differ from airline to airline.
It's important to check the official website of the airline you've booked with in advance.
This time, we'll introduce the baggage rules of ANA (All Nippon Airways), a leading airline.

< What Is Baggage? >
This refers to the luggage that passengers bring into the cabin or check in with the airline during travel.
< Types of Baggage >
1) Checked Baggage
With ANA, the number, weight, and size of bags you can check for free are determined by your ticket type and class.
For a typical international flight:
Economy Class: 1–2 pieces (depending on the fare type of your ticket)
Weight limit: Up to 23kg per piece
Size: Total of 3 dimensions within 158cm
* The above is a general guideline. The number of pieces may vary depending on the fare, so please be sure to check at the time of booking.
2) Carry-on Baggage
On ANA international flights, the following rules generally apply:
1 piece of carry-on baggage + 1 personal item (up to 2 pieces total) may be brought on board
Weight: Maximum 10kg
Size: Total of 3 dimensions within 115cm (approx. 55×40×25cm)
These standards are based on a size that can fit in the overhead bin or under the seat.
< About Baggage >
Bringing Liquids (International Flights)
Liquids brought into the cabin on international flights are restricted as follows:
Containers of 100ml or less
Must be placed together in a clear bag of 1 liter or less
Limited to 1 bag per person
This is a regulation at the security checkpoint, so please be sure to follow it.

When Baggage Exceeds the Rules
If the size or weight exceeds the allowed range, an additional fee (excess baggage fee) will be charged.
You can also apply for extra baggage online in advance (purchasing before departure may result in a lower fee).
Summary
Today we mainly covered ANA's baggage rules.
In actual travel, the free baggage allowance and excess baggage fees can vary depending on the flight number and fare type, so we recommend checking the details on ANA's official website after booking.
