University of New Brunswick-Fredericton Campus

The University of New Brunswick has two campuses, in Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick, and in Saint John, and each campus runs its own ESL program. At the Fredericton campus, each ESL level consists of 3 weeks, with classes 7 days a week from Monday to Sunday, and the last week off. The term runs from September to April, and from May to August there is a 5-week summer term. Most students live with Canadian families and must use only English in this highly intensive course, whose effectiveness in improving skills is recognized by many students. Dormitory accommodation is also available in the summer term. The ESL at the Saint John campus consists of an intensive English conversation course, a university preparation class, Business English as a 5-week short-term course, and special programs for professionals and working people. The intensive English conversation course is 14 weeks per level with 23 hours of classes per week. EAP and EBP programs are offered. Homestays are arranged taking students' personal preferences into account, and the rules to be observed are communicated to both students and host families, providing the utmost consideration for international students' convenience.
