About the School
The Department of English and Language Studies has an English Language Teaching Centre which runs a variety of English Language courses taught by a team of highly qualified and experienced English language teachers. Most of these classes are held at No. 1, Lady Wootton's Green, an historic building just outside the main campus. This building has a student common room, a computer laboratory and well-equipped classrooms. Lady Wootton's Green is only five minutes from other campus classrooms used for English classes and from the modern Student Building where there is an internet café, a bar and coffee shop. This is an ideal place for students to meet after classes. The following English Language Programmes are offered: ㆍ General English (all year) ㆍ General English with IELTS Preparation (all year) ㆍ Study Skills / English for Academic Purposes (September) ㆍ Study Abroad (English plus) . Free English classes taught by CELTA trainee teachers

- As a school affiliated with Canterbury University, students are expected to follow the school's schedule rather than receive close individual attention. An advantage is being able to use the school's diverse events and facilities. The proportion of Korean students is very low, at around 5% throughout the year, and the school is recommended for those at an intermediate English level or above, because students can audit the various general-education classes offered at the school, for which a small additional tuition fee may apply.
