About the School

Founded in 1952, CATS College is an international boarding school with a history of more than 60 years. It has four centers in Cambridge, Canterbury, London and Cambridge. The courses and subjects offered are not very different, but tuition, school facilities and the atmosphere of the city may vary slightly. Cambridge is about 1 hour from London by train. It is such a university town that about 70% of the city's population are staff or students of the University of Cambridge, and it is an education city that competes with Boston in the US and London in the UK for the title of the best city for international students to study in. The New Campus, which opened in 2015, is located about 10 minutes by taxi from central Cambridge. It is not far from the city center, yet it sits in a quiet residential area. The biggest feature of the Cambridge center is that it is an on-campus school, with the school facilities and the dormitory in a single building. The auditorium and student dining hall is a multi-purpose space: it serves as a restaurant at mealtimes, an auditorium for school information sessions and other events, a lounge during breaks, and a space for club activities. Meals are served buffet-style, and students living in the dormitory are provided with 3 meals a day. As the Cambridge center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, it offers 24-hour Wi-Fi as well as a variety of IT-based classes. The average class size at CATS College is 10-12 students, keeping classes small and select. CATS Cambridge has two dormitories: an on-campus dormitory and an off-campus dormitory. Students aged 18 or under stay in the on-campus dormitory (Premier House), and students aged 18 or over stay in the off-campus dormitory (Varsity House). The off-campus dormitory (Varsity House) is a 15-20 minute walk from the school. Even students aged 18 or over will be assigned to the on-campus dormitory if a place in Premier House is available. All dormitories at CATS Cambridge are single rooms with a private bathroom.
