About the School
Queens College is one of the 25 colleges of the City University of New York (CUNY) and provides an excellent education to students from more than 150 countries. Facilities
The college administration works to make the campus a home away from home for students, with more than 100 clubs and teams ranging from minority student science organizations to clubs for theater, fencing, environmental science, and martial arts. Queens is one of only two CUNY colleges that compete in NCAA Division II sports, sponsors men's and women's teams, and has some of the best athletic facilities in the metropolitan area. The college continues to open new cafes, restaurants, and lounge spaces, to improve the student union and other buildings, and to undertake various beautification projects to enhance the student experience on campus. Queens College opened its first residence hall, The Summit, in the fall of 2009. Now known as Summit Apartments, it houses about 500 students. The Summit uses green design and sustainable water and energy strategies, and has earned LEED Gold certification, a rating established by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Surroundings
Queens College is located on an 80-acre tree-lined campus surrounding a traditional quad, with magnificent views of the Manhattan skyline. It is easily accessible by public transportation and by car from Exit 24 of the Long Island Expressway. The college also provides a shuttle bus connecting to major bus stops and subway stations, making travel more convenient.
